EXPERIENCED LEGAL COUNSEL AS LEGAL LEADER EUROPE (M/W/D)

You will take on a key role in providing business-oriented legal support across a broad range of corporate and commercial matters. This position ensures consistent governance standards, effective contract management, and aligned legal strategies across the region. By partnering closely with cross-functional teams, the Legal Leader Europe safeguards Nemak's interests, ensures compliance and enables efficient and sustainable business operations across 8 countries in Europe.

• Provide strategic legal guidance to the European Purchasing organization on supplier contracts, negotiations, disputes, and commercially relevant decisions across key material and service categories.
• Oversee corporate secretarial responsibilities for Nemak's European entities, ensuring compliant documentation, and effective coordination of shareholder and board activities.
• Provide legal support to HSE topics, ensuring awareness with standards and compliance with relevant European environmental, sustainability, zoning, and energy regulations.
• Manage and coordinate legal procedures, claims, and litigation in Europe, including the supervision of external counsel and alignment of legal strategies with business priorities.
• Represent Nemak before regional governmental agencies and trade associations.
• Support daily business operations by assessing legal implications of strategic initiatives, conducting investigations, and providing pragmatic, risk-aware legal advice.
• Monitor European legal and regulatory developments, evaluate potential risks and opportunities, and ensure proactive alignment across key stakeholders.

• A German law degree or an equivalent legal qualification, combined with a solid understanding of European legal frameworks.
• Broad professional experience gained in a legal department or law firm, including exposure to senior legal stakeholders and complex corporate or commercial matters.
• Strong expertise in cross-border European corporate and commercial law, compliance, governance, and regulatory topics.
• Demonstrated ability to draft, negotiate, and manage contracts and legal disputes effectively.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, combined with a hands-on and business-oriented mindset.
• German native speaker. Fluency in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
• Confident use of MS Office tools.
