Aufgaben

The Development Platforms department is one of six strategic units within the Corporate IT division Digital Experience Platforms and is responsible for the implementation of central IT platforms for software development for all ZEISS divisions and corporate functions worldwide. In addition, the Development Platforms department runs the Global Software Testcenter, which offers Testing As A Service (TaaS) for all ZEISS divisions. With experienced test managers and testers, we support hands-on with test projects or take over all test planning and test executions throughout the company. As Head of Software Testcenter, you and your team are the central point of contact for our ZEISS departments and IT areas to provide comprehensive software tests as a service. Your responsibilities include:

  • Disciplinary and technical management of 6 to 13 employees - in accordance with our management principles, we understand this to mean that you lead, motivate, manage and develop employees. You will also act as Hiring Manager within the recruiting process at Zeiss, in which you will accompany all recruiting steps from the job advertisement to the possible hiring of a candidate

  • You manage the distribution of your internal and external employees according to the requirements that arise and their priorities

  • You ensure the operation of the applications in your area. You achieve this by ensuring system stability through measures such as monitoring or performance analyses. This also includes ensuring the quality of support and compliance with service level agreements

  • When it comes to security, you ensure that all new requirements comply with the currently applicable security standards. If there are changes to the security standards, you take care of the review of existing implementations

  • In the Digital Experience and Development Platforms area, you will be involved in the further development of the strategy and will subsequently be responsible for implementing it in your area

  • You are responsible for stakeholder management for your area by acting as an interface between CIT, the internal specialist departments and the business groups

  • In a continuous process, you will further develop the solution portfolio of your area of responsibility. This includes topics such as operational excellence of the applications for which the organization is responsible, product compliance management and health & safety management, considering changing IT trends. This area of responsibility also includes the continuous further development of the service and the sustainable solution of problems beyond team boundaries

  • You will also work on selected topics as a Senior Testmanager in daily operations


Profil
  • Successfully completed studies in computer science, business informatics or industrial engineering

  • Leadership skills

  • Social and communication skills

  • Extensive professional experience in a comparable position as well as already accumulated experience in application management in a SaaS or cloud platform environment

  • Experience in Software Test management and formulating and translating functional requirements into technical solutions

  • End-to-end process consulting

  • Comprehensive IT architecture and process understanding

  • Knowledge of service management processes according to ITIL

  • Knowledge and experience in international project management

  • Understand SaaS and cloud solutions and REST APIs

  • Good intercultural competence

  • Negotiable knowledge of English as well as good German
